Love really hurts

In a far away land, where the vegetation is purple and the flowers are blue, a duck fell in love with a bunny.

Day after day this duck would leave the lake to go after his love, always thinking of a way to please her. He would give her flowers, liquorice candies, chocolate carrots, but nothing was ever enough to make his beloved like him.

So he thought maybe the reason she disliked him had something to do with the fact that he was a duck. Perhaps if he looked more like a bunny, the love of his life would find him attractive. The duck then found a way to be more “bunny-like”. He found two long leaves of a whitish colour, due to the dry weather, and fixed them on each side of his head, where rabbit ears would be if he had them. Then, proudly, he went to see his love.

As soon as the bunny saw the duck she started laughing insanely. She laughed so hard she fell on her back and still could not stop laughing. The duck got so, so depressed he put his little tail between his legs, like a dog. He walked back to the lake and never left.

Weeks passed by and the bunny started to wonder where her admirer was. Her wondering got stronger and became something that felt as if a huge rock was moving in her stomach. A rock moving to every possible direction within her little insides.

The bunny was in agony. She could no longer follow her routine or do anything at all. She was puzzled about that feeling, so she went to see her rat friend, hoping to get that feeling off her chest, or stomach in her case. The rat listened to every word she said and got mad, for that rat had suffered of love and suffered deeply. The tiny rat yelled using the maximum power her vocal chords could reach: “You stupid! You are in love!!! Surrender to it!”. Blinded with rage, the rat took a heavy piece of stick and cracked the bunny’s head open.

It was a tragedy. The rat did not mean to kill the bunny and no one would ever even imagine she was physically capable of doing something like that. However, love matters did really affected her and now nothing could bring the bunny back.

It was the saddest funeral. The duck was devastated. He cried everyday ever since. He cried so hard the lake increased a few millimetres that season. Every single day he would lay a flower on his love’s grave, until one day he found it violated.

The duck was enraged. What kind of repugnant animal could have had his love’s remains as a meal? He started to wonder if he still wanted to live in a World where that kind of thing happened.

It was a gloomy sight, the saddest duck alone in that huge cold lake. All was involved by the sound of the wind touching the water and the crying. All of a sudden that melody was broken by a “psst”. The duck could not believe his eyes. There in front of him was the bunny standing. She was finally smiling at him. She looked so beautiful and so happy. Even with her eye hanging out and her ear wiggling broken, the bunny was still the most beautiful being the duck had ever seen.

Since this day they were inseparable. Their love was touching. They lived happily and formed a beautiful family along with their dearest bunny-duck zombie baby.

o.O

Run bunny, run!

Bunny does not feel like running.
